How I Approach Common Problems
The scenario below illustrates my typical approach to a problem I often encounter – it is not a description of an actual, completed project.
Different Departments, Different Numbers for the Same Period.
Typical Situation
The company relies on several data sources (ERP, CRM, Excel spreadsheets). Different departments report different numbers to management for the same period – no one knows which source is the correct one.
How I Approach the Problem
I start with an audit of business definitions, not the tooling. I work with departments to agree on a single definition for each KPI, and only then design the data model that reflects it.
Result
A single source of truth for all metrics. Management stops receiving conflicting numbers from different departments before every meeting.

I’ve been working in IT for over 26 years, and for the past 6 years I’ve focused primarily on data platforms. I help companies organize their reporting, build data models, and improve decision-making processes.
It matters to me that reports – and the data behind them – genuinely support decision-making, without guesswork and without long waits for answers.
I’m not looking for flashy, over-engineered solutions. I prefer one that works, and that someone else can maintain on their own afterward. I work with companies on a project and consulting basis, in a flexible arrangement – you can draw on my experience exactly when you need it, without recruitment, onboarding, or a full-time hire.
